Are you Listening?
Inspiration and motivation may come to you at any point and at any time. Often when you’re not looking and least expect it. Are you open to receiving it? Can you hear the message through the words?
It was just about 4:45AM today. I’m getting dressed in the dark and being as quite as possible. My wife is still sleeping. (FYI – if this is my last communication it’s possible she has killed me). But I must go on. As I’m getting ready to exit the room she says something, in her sleep, a deep sleep. What’s crazy is that she almost never says anything while sleeping. The room and the whole house was quite and still. It was so peaceful and silent in the house that her words rang out like the liberty bell on a calm, crisp autumn night, with not so much as a cool breeze to carry the sound away. Through her sleep she clearly states…..
“I have no idea, but I’ll figure it out!”
Wow – pure confidence and self esteem. She didn’t say, I’m not sure, or I’m not clear, or I’ll try. No, in essence what she said and what I heard was “I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO IT, BUT I WILL GET IT DONE!”
I’m impressed, proud and so motivated.

On behalf of my company, Express Employment Professionals, yesterday I had the honor and privilege to speak to the men at the Addictions Care Center of Albany. I was able to personal stories about beating the odds and overcoming addiction. I shared about the mental fortitude and drive it takes to make a commitment to change your life, to build something better for yourself and your family. I told them stories of people who’ve done it and have become wildly successful.
We all make mistakes. We all fall down. But when we get up the choice becomes where we go and how determined we are to get there. If any of the men we met yesterday have a path they want to go down and we can help them with employment, belief, or guidance – we will be happy to do so. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak with them and hope I was able to share some wisdom and make an impact. Next week we speak to the woman at the Addictions Center.
Help is out there and it come in many forms. Take it when it’s offered, and if it’s not offered, please ask for it!
